Maybe I was in an alternate universe when the news a couple of weeks ago about Karel Gott going to the hospital was in all the major Czech (and even some international) media outlets. I just got an, um, interesting comment to that post, and I’m including it in its shine-on-you-crazy-diamond entirety after the link below.
Go read the whole thing first, and then come back and read this:
I report in this blog about things that I see. If I see a headline in several newspapers, as well as on TV, then I tend to think that’s true. But it’s always up to you to decide for yourselves.
As for the idea that the reports were a photo montage, I can say this. I’ve worked in photomontage using Photoshop since it was a 0.9 beta release, and I think I can safely say that the photos published in the Czech media were not montages. In any case, reader “Emil” has had his say, and you guys can judge the comments.
One more question: How does “tinfoil hat” translate in to Czech?
Here’s the comment from “Emil”:
The articles about Karel Gott with the title Karel Gott in hospital are not true. Karel Gott is completely okay, this year he was not in hospital and he celebrated his 64th birthday with friends, but without Ivana Machácková, because she is very bad, she worked with Karel Gott together and she will take famous stars coming into the public, being famous too and get a lot of money. Ivana Machácková often is drunken, she has love affairs with reporters from czech newspapers and so she could often publish photomontages with herself and Karel Gott with the lie, that she would be his girl-friend. Besides Ivana Machácková in the past sometimes let falsifie television interviews with Karel Gott and bring herself into this television interviews with help by an imitator and television people brought her with help by simulators into television broadcastings with Karel Gott, so some television interviews and broadcastings with Karel Gott, where people could see Ivana Machácková, were fa!
lsified. Karel Gott told Ivana Machácková, that he would have with her no more contact and he told her, that she should go away from him. Because of this Ivana Machácková was very bad, she would attack Karel Gott again and so she told reporters in television and newspapers in Czech Republic and Germany the lies, that Karel Gott on July 14th 2003 collapsed, that she found him, that he was in hospital and so on. Together with her new lies about Karel Gott she published photomontages and falsified again television interviews with Karel Gott. The photograph in your internet address above is a photomontage too. Karel Gott has his girl-friend in Germany and his german girl-friend is a very nice lady. Please publish in your internet address the truth about Karel Gott, that this year he was not in hospital, that he celebrated on July 14th 2003 completely okay his 64th birthday with friends and without Ivana Machácková, because she is not his girl-friend. Thank you very much.
