A professor at Charles University here in Kafkaville has published interesting research showing that cats have infected half the population with a parasite that changes peoples’ personalities.

The parasite, toxoplasma gondii, is carried by nearly all domestic cats. And it causes a disease called toxoplasmosis. As the Times of London report summarized Professor Jaroslav Flegr’s work:

“Infected men, suggests one new study, tend to become more aggressive, scruffy, antisocial and are less attractive. Women, on the other hand, appear to exhibit the “sex kitten” effect, becoming less trustworthy, more desirable, fun- loving and possibly more promiscuous. “

Flegr and his team actually focused on toxoplasmosis’ influence on driving habits. Apparently women with toxoplasmosis are more likely to be involved in traffic accidents. (Via Futurepundit)

Wonder what Moxie would have to say about this?
