Belgrade Coffee Shop

When I was hanging out with Robert Klajn from B92 last weekend in Belgrade, I asked him about the state of the current DJ/electronica scene, and in his typically understated way he said, “I’ll bring you some CDs and you can see for yourself.”

I’ve finally gotten around to listening to “Belgrade Coffee Shop 3” which is an excellent collection of local music. Klajn said that Beogradžani (Belgraders) are mostly into downtempo and deep house, and that’s what this CD focuses on too. I’m looking forward to dropping it into the mix at upcoming gigs.

You can download one of the singles, J.U.S.T’s “True Love” here. You can buy Belgrade Coffee Shop 3 directly from the B92 online store, by the way.
