I lay in bed tonight, about to drift off to sleep, when it suddenly occurred to me that something I wanted to mention on this blog didn’t get posted, namely, that I wanted to wish you all a happy March 4th.

My professor and mentor, Harry Reese, was always talking about how March 4th should be a holiday, because it’s the only day on the calendar that’s also a command. In his view, March 4th should be a day to commemorate exploration and progress.
