Deepest apologies for the radio silence. I have a lot of things going on at work, from meetings on future projects to making sure LiveSupport Lead Developer Akos Maroy – who is on a visit to West Africa and is probably on a plane to Sierra Leone as we speak – has what he needs.
By the way, in case anybody knows any people with GTK development experience, we could use the help trying to get our GTK-based LiveSupport Studio software finished up. To get it to look like this, we have to go pretty deep into GTK widgets to change their appearance to match the user interface designs we’ve committed to.
But that’s on the work front. I’ve finished a new mix, which is up here. It’s the third in my ‘Sofistica’ series, called “Summer Sun.” Blissed-out, chilled-out stuff, it’s probably the poppiest setlist I’ve put together yet. Seeing as I’m ‘between gigs’ as a club DJ – mainly because I don’t have the time for it – I’ve been listening to music in a lot of other places besides dark and smoky clubs at 4am. The songs in the list are some of my favorite! songs! evah!, but I’ve never been able to fit them into a usual set, but they still make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
In my mind, there’s a bright, sunny place – probably by a pool – where they’re serving drinks with umbrellas in them. And that’s where this mix is playing.
While many will probably listen to “Summer Sun” turned down a bit quieter – as lots of people tend to do with nu-jazz, I’m convinced this is music for maximum volume. So go download it and tell me what you think in the comments.
