Giving Thanks

As I sit in a beige hotel lobby in downtown Johannesburg, it suddenly occurred to me that tomorrow is going to be Thanksgiving. My favorite thing to do at Thanksgiving is when everybody around the table explains what it is they’re thankful for. Seeing as I’m on the road, here’s a list of some of the things I give thanks for this year.

– My health. I’m thankful that my health is good, and that I’m able to spend long hours in front of a monitor with relatively few complications so far, considering.
– My family. So much love.
– This time in history. I’m thankful to be alive at a time in history when we really have a chance to make positive changes that could last centuries if we do them right. If not, all this becomes a footnote, but an interesting one.

  1. The secret I’ve learned is that we should feeling thankful every day… like it’s Thanksgiving. Thanksful for the amazing fried cheese we’re going to have next week in Prague for example! He he.
